Hi guys! As always your podcast is intriguing enough for me to listen to 54 minutes about an artist I really never cared much for and didn’t really know outside the hits played on FM radio or MTV.
At any rate, the H.R. credited for “Who’s Got the Herb” is Paul D. Hudson, who is known professionally as H.R. (or Human Rights) and is the lead singer for hardcore punk pioneers Bad Brains. I don’t think Pufnstuf is part of his name, although I’m sure he has probably puffed alot of stuff knowing him and his background. 😄
Keep up the great work!
Hello! Great podcast, first time to hear. I’m sure you got other comments, but as a die-hard 311 Fan since ’96 (an “Excitable”, as they call us), I have to correct you on the band members.
P-Nut (Aaron Wills) is the Bassist.
Chad Sexton is the drummer and songwriter (also an artist).
Tim Mahoney is the lead guitarist.
SA (Doug) Martinez is the rapping vocalist, DJ (and other sounds), and songwriter.
And Nick Hexum is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter.
They are all very talented musicians who are still rocking out dozens of shows every year for over 3 decades. They have a loyal fanbase ranging in age from GenX’ers in their late 50’s to kids under 10. My 9yo daughter knows all their albums and had a blast at their shows. We’ve bonded as a family over 311; expected since we married on 3/11. In conclusion, thanks for letting me share my personal experience while fact-correcting. 😁
