This episode is for The Byrds! Or, more specifically, folks who want to learn more about the 60s band led by Roger McGuinn. Hammond and Brian listened to the whole Byrds aviary of music – what did we think?

I am disappointed at how poorly researched this episode was. Im not used to the number of glaring errors in some of your facts, the biggest being Bob Dylan wrote Man of Constant Sorrow. That song has been around since the 20’s and 30’s. Very traditional song.
I’m disappointed in Brian’s kind of flippant take on the band. Understood you don’t really care for them, but their harmonies and jangly 12 string guitar are the progenitor to that 80’s Pop you hold so dear. And The Byrds WERE the fathers of modern Folk Rock much like The Allman Brothers and Southern Rock. Your constant comparisons to A Mighty Wind are off as A Mighty Wind is a pretty much a parody of the folk genre. You don’t compare Weird Al to Michael Jackson stylistically. Or who knows you might.
Im not a big Byrds fan, I obviously like them more than you. I’m a bit older than you guys so the sound is seeded in me like it or not. I just feel you didn’t give them some of the respect they deserve. They were true pioneers, genre creating, and oh so influential. You guys as music lovers kinda dropped the ball on this one.
The Doobie Brothers wrote Black Water btw
Man you need to learn an awful lot about Bob Dylan!
