Soundography #53: The Tragically Hip
Man, The Hip are one of my all-time favorites. I got into them when my cable company here in Ohio added MuchMusic – the Canadian version MTV. For a long time I listened to more Canadian music than I did American music.
If you haven’t, you NEED to find The Hip’s final concert. Gord’s voice was rough, he seemed unsteady at times, and he messed up some of the words… but the emotion and power of that show -especially the version of Grace, too – still sends chills through my body. I might be tearing up now thinking about it.
