Why does it sound like a yoga studio in here? Oh, because Hammond and Brian are doing their genre show for the season - New Age Instrumentals! And if you think it's just background music, think again!

Fantastic genre episode!
I think this genre has lots of overlap with what many record stores called “world music.” I want to share one of my favorites from Portugal: the album Miradouro by cavaquinho artist Júlio Pereira. (Cavaquinho = ukelele predecessor). Wonderfully unique late 80s new age production.

Fantastic genre episode!
There seems to be some overlap between New Age Instrumental and what record shops categorized as “World Music.” I want to share one of my favorites I found in Portugal: the album Miradouro by cavaquino artist Júlio Pereira. (Cavaquinho = ukelele predecessor.) It’s a captivating unique late 80s new age album.
(Search “Júlio Pereira Miradouro” to find it at YouTube, etc.)
